Supporting Young Disabled People To Gain New Skills
Leonard Cheshire supports individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Their skills development programme, Can Do, is for individuals aged 16-35 with a disability or long-term health condition. It's all about learning new things, building confidence, giving back to the community and adding to CV’s.
Our Academy Team work closely with Leonard Cheshire and their Can Do project delivering pet care and management lessons, helping students to work towards their college qualifications. Can Do is a skills development programme for individuals aged 16-35 with a disability or long term health condition and help support them with up to 3 Pets Corner Academy programmes a year.
£20,000 is donated to Leonard Cheshire every year which will be used exclusively to support up to 36 disabled people to participate in three, 8 week building communities programmes in Surrey, London and Southampton.Learn more
